The power of high-definition moving image creation has never been easier to achieve via your camera. This course will introduce you to HD video production using DSLR Cameras, through a series of exercises and workshops. You will learn how to organise your ideas, plan and shoot sequences as well as develop your camera, sound and editing skills. By the end of the course you should have successfully shot and edited a short film project. If you are not entitled to a reduced fee but are finding it difficult to pay for your course in one go, we can offer a Staged Payment Agreement to split the costs into three payments if your course(s) costs £200 or more. Please talk to a member of enrolment staff about how your payments would be structured. You are liable for all payments under this agreement, even if you stop attending your class. As a student of Morley College you are also entitled to a discount on Adobe CC Software. Your tutor can advise you on how to apply for this.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use digital video cameras such as a DSLR or Bridge Camera
  • Use basic post-production techniques (e.g. transitions, titles)
  • Use sound for video production
  • Plan and develop ideas for moving image sequences
  • Use software to import and export video and other material
  • Edit and share a short video project using industry-standard software
  • Review various accessories to enhance your use of the camera for video-making.
