This month Morley Digital ventured into the realms of radio with our first ever podcast! Our channel ‘Morley Digital’; can be found on a new Morley Radio community radio station for Morley College London. The station is central to the College’s vision of inspiring ambitions and creating outstanding learning opportunities and is a platform for the learner’s voice, showcasing and celebrating student achievement. An invaluable, hands-on resource for tutors in all subject areas, to develop a wide range of course materials and class activities and a space to enable collaboration and building networks
Presented by Steve Mepsted and recorded live at Morley College, London The MORLEY DIGITAL podcast showcases interviews led by tutors, students and guests of Digital Media, Film and Photography Courses at Morley College, London
We’ll be discussing digital trends, technological matters, news and events and much more. In this episode I talk ‘Student Exhibitions’ the trails and tribulations, pains and pleasures of ‘The Art of Show’ with Bruce Tanner, Morley Level 4 Photography Course Tutor, Philippe Close, Senior Tutor for the Level 3 Access Course in Creative Digital Media and Alberto Ajelli – a student on last year’s Access Course.
Throughout its 128 year history, Morley College has exhibited its students work – whether in the gallery, the stage or the concert floor.
Each year the Visual and Digital Arts Department showcases its student work in a show called ‘Made’
This year Morley’s annual ‘Made’ exhibition will run from 28th April – 7 May at The Menier Gallery in Southwark, and features work by students on unaccredited courses in Digital Media, Fashion, Printmaking and Bookbinding and Sculpture.
The radio show was great fun to do and I am bowled over by the great new professional resource we have at Morley – looking forward to the next episode!
